Allow Us to Introduce Ourselves
Welcome to Hixson Community Yoga!
Allow me to introduce ourselves!
What we are is in the name….a center for Hixson and local neighbors to come together in fellowship and community for the purpose of practicing all things yoga.
When I was imagining the space for HCYC there were several key focuses that I wanted to meet as a way to serve the community the best that we could.
A SPACE TO RETREAT
I wanted the physical space to feel welcoming and inviting to everyone who chose to come through the door. A cozy place that felt more like home than a business. A place that was simple and had little visual distractions that would be encouraging for students to escape their own mental noise that, so often, controls their day.
A SPACE THAT’S SAFE
Our instructors aspire to be encouraging and supportive to create a space that feels safe to let go of inhibitions to move, and experiment with your body in ways we commonly hold back from doing. We are here to guide you but also to give you permission to honor how you feel in each practice how you need it to be.
A SPACE THAT’S SUPPORTIVE
We LOVE your feedback. We want to hear about your wellness goals. We want to know what types of interests and modalities in the health and wellness genre that you are interested in learning more about. In short, how can we serve you better? Simply reach out to us and one of us can set time aside to discuss what concerns you.
A SPACE FOR LEARNING
Every month I strive to bring new and different workshops and special events to the studio offered by local professionals in their field. There are so many different aspects and techniques within the practice of yoga and mindfulness. I want to be able to introduce and share these techniques with you in hopes that you may find something that is beneficial for you on your personal journey. As they say, we don’t know what we don’t know, and I want to educate you with as many new experiences as possible.
A SPACE FOR COMMUNING
Hixson lacks a central downtown area to gather, so I love it when we have a full studio of lovely people getting to know each other and supporting each other. Isolation is a massive issue in the US and it’s so nice to witness new friendships and bonds being created among our community members! Our students are so friendly and inviting and love to welcome new members into their fold. There are no clicks at HCYC, everyone is welcomed as a new friend.
So that is us in a nutshell.
It has been both a challenging and magical journey since we opened our doors on July 1, 2025 and we are definitely still learning and growing.
I sincerely invite you in to give one of our classes a try and let us know what we can do to serve you.
In Gratitude,
Debbie Parsons
